Meet Our Dentists

Catering

Dr. Bassel Gebrael (Periodontist)

Dr. Bassel Gebrael is a certified periodontist specializing in regenerative periodontal surgery to restore gum health as well as cosmetic gum surgery for smile enhancement, and dental implants. 

A 1998 dental graduate from the University of Western Ontario, he went on to receive a specialty diploma in periodontics from Nova Southeastern University in 2002. 

Dr. Gebrael is a member of the Ontario Society of Periodontists, the American Academy of Periodontology, the Academy of Osseointegration, and the Ontrario Dental Association.

Dr. Elie Wolfson (Endodontics)

Dr. Elie Wolfson is a certified specialist in endodontics and handles all forms of root canal treatment including surgery, bone grafting and implants to replace fractured roots. His focus is on patient management and the use of technology to relieve pain and anxiety.

Dr. Wolfson is board certified in both Canada and the United States. He is a 1973 graduate of Temple University in Philadelphia and has been involved with the Royal College of Dentists of Canada for more than 30 years where he has served as president, councilor and chief examiner.

He is also a member of the Canadian Academy of Endodontics, the American Association of Endodontists, the Ontario Society of Endodontists, and the Canadian Dental Association.

Dr. Mustafa Abouzgia (Oral Surgeon)

Dr. Mustafa Abouzgia is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon.

His work has been published in a number of professional periodicals including The Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, The International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and the International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Implants. He also has delivered presentations at a variety of scientific conferences. 

Dr. Abouzgia received his training at the University of Toronto and completed his residency at The Toronto Hospital. He continued his training in Toronto and was awarded a fellowship certificate by the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. While working on a research project in the University of Toronto’s Department of Mechanical Engineering, Dr. Abouzgia also earned a master’s degree in science. 

Outside of the office, he enjoys traveling and gardening.

Dr. M. Gaid (Anaesthesiologist)

Dr. M. Gaid is the in-house anesthesiologist. 

He graduated in 1975 from the University of Alexandria Medical School in Egypt and furthered his education at the University of Toronto to specialize in anesthetics in 1988. 

Dr. Gaid continues to educate himself on the latest technology in anesthesiology.

In his spare time, he travels and is a sports enthusiast.

Dr. Farhad Riazi

Dr. Farhad Riazi has nearly 30 years experience and expertise in the dental field.

He graduated with honors in 1995 from the University of Toronto School of Dentistry, where he also received numerous awards in orthodontics, endodontics, and restorative dentistry. Prior to that, he studied in the Arts and Sciences program at University of Toronto.

His hobbies include golf, tennis, and table tennis.

Dr. Kathy Rahimi

Dr. Fataneh (Kathy) Rahimi earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree with distinction from the University of Western Ontario in 2014 and she was on the Dean’s Honor List.

Dr. Kathy enjoys all aspects of dentistry and strives to provide a relaxing and comfortable environment for her patients, along with top quality dental treatment.

She routinely attends continuing education courses through her involvement with professional organizations. Dr, Kathy holds membership with Canadian Dental Association, Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, and Ontario Dental Association.

In her free time, Dr. Kathy enjoys reading, working out, and most of all, she loves spending time with her husband, son, and dog.

Occupation: Dental Reception/Assistant. I also have been a realtor for 16 years!
How long have you worked at LDDC: 14 years
Hometown: Orangeville
Family/ pets: 2 boys and Gonzo
What did you want to be when you grew up?: Architect
First Job: Mc Donald’s
Hobbies/Interests: Being on the lake, shopping, starbucks, watching HGTV, taking pictures of my kids.
Favourite sport to watch/play: Hockey and Lacrosse
Biggest pet peeve: Too many to name.
Favourite bands in high school: The Tragically Hip
Favourite vacation spot: Anywhere there is water, it’s sunny, and hot.

Occupation: Restorative Dental Hygienist
How long have you worked at LDDC: 26 years

Pets? 2 Golden Retrievers.
What did you want to be when you grew up? Nurse/ Airline Stewardess
First Job: Worked in the kitchen of a restaurant on an island in Parry Sound.
Hobbies/Interests: Cycling on my road and mountain bike & travelling Europe cycling.

Biggest pet peeve: People who drive slow in the passing lane.

Occupation: Dental Assistant (for 26 years which also included hygiene assistant)
How long have you worked at LDDC: I am a newbie to the office, 2.5 months.
Hometown: I grew up in Tollendale, which is just on the outskirts of Barrie.
Family/Pets? I have a son and daughter, plus a wonderful granddaughter Adaline. I also have a grandpup, Sutton, she is so smart!
What did you want to be when you grew up? I was hoping to be a flight attendant.
First Job: H Salt fish and chips in Barrie
Hobbies/Interests: I love spending time with family and friends which includes hours of playing games.

What are you really bad at that you’d love to be great at? My hand writing is ok but I just love it when I see beautiful hand writing, so to be able to write prettier.
What is your favourite part of working for LDDC: For sure, the best thing is working with old staff members again and getting to know new ones (and of course working in Orangeville again).

How long have you worked at LDDC? I’ve been at LDDC since April of 2023.

Family/Pets? No pets at the moment.
What did you want to be when you grew up? Car sales woman.
First Job: Hostess at Swiss Chalet.
Hobbies/Interests: Driving my summer car, going to the gym, going to the beach, and hanging with my family.
