Will I feel anything?
The area is fully numbed first. You may feel some pressure or vibration, but not pain. Tell us at any time if you need a break.
Can you replace my old silver fillings?
Yes. Many patients choose to replace worn or discoloured amalgam fillings with tooth-coloured composite. We will let you know if a filling actually needs replacing or is still doing its job.
Your visit, step by step
Step 1: Numb
A topical gel followed by local anaesthetic makes the area completely comfortable.
Step 2: Clean
The decayed part of the tooth is gently removed and the cavity cleaned.
Step 3: Fill & shape
Composite resin is placed in layers, hardened with a light, and shaped to match your bite.
Step 4: Polish
A final polish makes the filling smooth and nearly invisible.
